Most of us slave away at jobs we don’t like just to make enough money to feed our families and have a little bit of fun. We work hard, save money, and try to get ahead.

Some people, on the other hand, make more money in one year than most of us will make in a lifetime. And the odd thing is, they’re dead!

Listen to Mason and Emily talk about the highest paid dead celebrities.

Mason:  Okay, it’s contest time.

Emily:  Alright, let’s go.

Mason:  I brought a clipping from the paper today with the highest paid dead celebrities. So, I wonder if you can guess one of the top five. Who do you think?

Emily:  I’m going Elvis.

Mason:  Elvis?

Emily:  Elvis.

Mason:  Are you serious? Elvis is number one.

Emily:  Oh man, that’s awesome.

Mason:  You read the article, didn’t you?

Emily:  High fives to that.

Mason:  You read the article!

Emily:  I didn’t read the article.

Mason:  He makes $45 million a year even though he’s dead.

Emily:  And he’s dead!

Mason:  So, you know.

Emily:  What better gig is there?

Mason:  I mean, I just think that’s so cool, though, because there hasn’t been anything especially Elvis happening, it’s just everyone buys Elvis all the time.

Emily:  His popularity is very consistent.

Mason:  I mean, same thing: John Lennon is number three on here, Charles Schulz from The Peanuts, number two, making crazy money.

Emily:  Marylin Monroe, is she on there?

Mason:  You know, she’s not. Oh my gosh. But Ray Charles is. Oh wait, no, no. She is. She’s number seven.
